Gerard Spencer came into CNS in October 2011 to deliver a talk to Year 12 and 13 students about the benefits of studying for a degree in Europe. He presented the students with a wide range of information, which ranged from the academic and financial advantages of studying abroad to tips on how to learn a new language. His talk was very well prepared and was informative and interesting. Student feedback to the talk was positive.
Tomorrow’s leaders will be comfortable working across national, cultural and language borders. I can think of no better way to lay firm foundations for a global career than to do your first degree in country other than your own. Gerard is himself evidence of that and I fully support his work in helping others gain that same competitive advantage. R.A.
Volunteer Action for Peace is working with EUROPEDUCATION because we share the same aims – to offer young people a chance to experience another culture, to meet people from other countries, to develop language and life skills, to learn to adapt to new environments. Together we are hoping to create more opportunities to enjoy life changing international experiences.
Lots of people would definitely benefit from this support! The presentation definitely has helped me become more aware of all my options and has helped me seriously consider studying abroad! The information given about fees in other European countries was particularly useful and eye-opening - especially as my school year will be the first to be effected by new university fees.
